Associate Attorney
About:
Cody Riley is an attorney of Ragab Law Firm in Colorado, where he was born and raised. He is proud to be a part of a law firm in his home state that shares his passion for helping businesses flourish by offering legal counsel that is approachable and forward looking.
All his life, Cody has had an entrepreneurial and innovative mind that drew him to anything business and technology related. For this reason, he pursued a certificate in intellectual property from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, as well as a Copyright Law Certificate, Trademark Law Certificate, and Patent Law Certificate from the University of Pennsylvania Law School. In addition to being admitted to practice by the Colorado Bar and the United States District Court for the District of Colorado, Attorney Riley can practice in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) as a Trademark and Patent Attorney.
Cody began his higher education by studying biology for his undergraduate degree at Colorado State University. Before and during law school at the University of Denver Strum College of Law, where he finished his J.D., he worked as an account manager for a pharmaceutical and medical device company. Working in that role gave him invaluable communication skills that translated directly to his ability to efficiently and effectively communicate with colleagues, clients, opposing counsel and the courts while working on a case.
Today, at Ragab Law Firm, Attorney Riley uses his educational background, industry experience, entrepreneurial spirit, and passion for innovation to dig into the many details that can come up in complicated business and intellectual property matters. From contract drafting, negotiating, and review to intellectual property portfolio management, he can handle everything for his clients with his famous attention to detail. He particularly enjoys helping clients explore alternative dispute resolution options like mediations to solve problems without the need to put the court in charge of every decision. He prides himself on getting to know clients on a personal level and understanding their entire story and long-term goals of using the legal process. He can be described as “very hands-on” with his cases, so his clients are never left wondering where their case stands or what the next steps are.
When not working on a case, Cody likes to stay active. Some of his favorite activities are hiking, skiing, paddleboarding, mountain biking, and camping. Cody is also a talented fisherman who knows how to flyfish, icefish, and deep-sea fish. For more relaxing times, he enjoys his lifelong passion for reading historical non-fiction books.
